Cinnamon
Cinnamon came to us this week after her owners moved out and left her and her housemate behind. Both dogs were left to starve and were doing just that until a neighbor brought them to the shelter. Sadly, Cinnamon’s housemate was picked up by a rescue but she got left behind. Her confidence is shot and she isn’t really sure what she can trust or believe in. We tried doing a meet and greet with a potential foster today but unfortunately Cinnamon’s anxiety level is just too high and she was overly stressed.
We are now looking for a foster home with no other dogs and we are also looking into getting her some acupuncture to help ease some of her stress. It is urgent that we get her into a home now so that we can start her training and work on lowering her anxiety. The sooner we can help her overcome this…the sooner we can get her started on her second chance.
She is not aggressive in any manner but does have some fear that we would like to address sooner rather than later. Building up her confidence is priority for us as once we get her to that point we feel she’ll do great with other pooches! She is very interested and curious…just not very trusting of them yet.
She is about 1 years old and extremely quiet and cuddly. She enjoys her tennis ball and soft rubs. She walks well on a leash but likes to do her business and go back inside pretty quick. All she wants is a lap to lay her head in and she be very content and happy.
Can anyone help this poor baby girl out on the road to her second chance? She needs a home ASAP as we really don’t want her catching the kennel cough or mange that we are treating here.
Meet Otto
Regardless of our financial situation at the moment, we just couldn’t let this sweet baby boy be put down.
Otto was used as bait to train other dogs for dogfighting, rescued just to be put on death row. He’s 40 pounds underweight and receiving emergency treatment at our vet and, as you know, we are OUT of funds.
If you’d like to contribute to his vet care, please call the vet at (773) 920-2103 and let them know you’d like to donate to Otto’s care. www.vcamisener-holley.com/ There’s a special place in heaven for those who can help this sweet baby boy.
Diamond
Please welcome our newest furbaby!
This is Diamond who was set to be euthanized this morning… but instead will find herself in a nice warm home for the holidays! YAY!!!
Help our Angel
[December 2011] Please help! We need a home for Angel…she only has a few days left in her current home. We really don’t believe in rescuing a dog just to put them in boarding and would rather use those funds to help heal the dogs as well. Can anyone give this sweet baby a place to rest her head while she has her heartworm treatment?
My name is Angel and I need a place to crash for a while. I am heartworm positive and looking for someplace that I can rest my head while I receive my treatment. It is best that I am the only dog and that there be no cats while I’m getting better as I need to be kept very quiet during treatment.
I am a total love, I’m potty-trained, crate-trained and know my basic commands. I am also very good with kids!
The faster I can find a foster home, the faster I can start my medicine to make the icky heartworms go away. Please contact pitcrewilrescue@gmail.com if I can crash at your place!
