{Pupdates} Honey and Cinnamon

Pupdates:

Honey: Honey is very chipper and healing well. She is still taking her meds like a good girl and seems to be a smart little cookie too! She has already learned sit (100% of the time) and is hard at work learning her manners. She seems to be picking things up super fast. YAY for Honey!!

Cinnamon: We bought her a crate yesterday and thought that we would slowly try to reintroduce it to her. She was very curious while it was being set up and once her blanket and toys were inside, snuggled up for a little nap! We are going to get her used to it before we attempt to shut the door, but anyone following Cinnamon’s story knows…this is a HUGE step for her.

It’s all about the baby steps…they make us so happy!

{Pupdate} Visiting Cinnamon for Valentine’s Day!

posted by admin on February 14, 2012

We went for a little visit with Cinni-stub tonight.

She is thriving in her foster home! Though she still has some areas to work on, her anxiety level is so much lower and she is finally finding comfort in a home. She has gotten so comfortable that she actually had a positive mini-play with another pibble out on her walk, something she wasn’t able to do before as her fear got the better of her.

We are so happy with the direction she’s moving in that we bought her a crate tonight. (On sale, saved $20..YAY) We are going to try introducing her to the crate slowly, leaving it out with the door open and hopefully move from there.

Her stub is all healed and the fur is slowly growing back now. She don’t seem to mind the bit that’s gone. The lump she had on her side has gone down as well, seems like Benadryl did the trick!

I have to say thank you to Alison and Alana for believing in Cinnamon, helping her gain her confidence and loving her…flaws and all! You girls ROCK!

{Pupdate} Cinna’s Stub

Cinni-stub had her stitches remove tonight!!! THings look like they are healing nicely for her new stub. She will stay on the antibiotics for a few more days. Also, she still need the cone of shame for 2 days more….oh the horror!!

When I picked her up for the vet tonight I noticed a pretty large lump on her left side so we had the doctor take a look at it. There is no trauma or injury. They aren’t sure what it is….it is squishy and has a solid mass in there. We have started her on Benadryl to see if that helps and are going to watch it for a few days. If it gets any larger she will need another biopsy done.

Thankfully it doesn’t seem to hurt her or cause any distress. Will keep you posted.
